The study investigated the safety of 4-component meningococcal serogroup B vaccination (4CMenB) in routine care. 4CMenB exposure and seizures, febrile seizures and Kawasaki disease were identified from The Health Improvement Network (THIN) database of UK electronic primary healthcare records, 2015-2018. A self-controlled case series analysis was completed. Anaphylaxis, Guillain-Barré syndrome and acute disseminated encephalomyelitis were secondary outcomes. A total of 107,231 children aged 1-18 months received ≥1 doses of 4CMenB vaccination. Most 4CMenB exposure (93%) was on the same day as other vaccines within a complete national immunisation program stage. With day 0 as day of vaccination, 43 seizures occurred in days 0-6 after 239,505 doses, and 23 febrile seizures occurred in days 0-6, and 4 Kawasaki disease cases in days 1-28 after 194,929 4CMenB doses. Adjusted incidence rate ratios including all 4CMenB exposures were 1.43 (95%CI 1.02-2.02) for seizures and 1.72 (95%CI 1.08-2.75) for febrile seizures. There were insufficient cases to model Kawasaki disease, and no cases of the secondary outcomes in risk periods when they may be associated with the vaccination. This study shows few cases of the outcomes after vaccination including 4CMenB with an increased risk of seizures and febrile seizures. It is not possible to attribute the finding to one specific vaccination as the majority of 4CMenB was given with other vaccinations. Trial registration NA. Cervical cancer is the leading cause of cancer among women in Tanzania, with approximately 10,000 new cases and 7,000 deaths annually. In April 2018, the Government of Tanzania introduced 2 doses of human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine nationally to adolescent girls to prevent cervical cancer, following a successful 2-year pilot introduction of the vaccine in the Kilimanjaro Region. We interviewed key informants at the national level in Tanzania from February to November 2019, using a semi-structured tool to better understand national decision-making and program implementation. We conducted a comprehensive desk review of HPV vaccine introduction materials and reviewed administrative coverage data. Ten key informants were interviewed from the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly, and Children, the World Health Organization, and other partners, and HPV vaccine planning documents and administrative coverage data were reviewed during the desk review. Tanzania introduced HPV vaccine to a vaccination were reported to the national level. Tanzania successfully introduced HPV vaccine nationally targeting 14-year-old girls, using routine delivery strategies. Continued monitoring of vaccination coverage will be important to ensure full 2-dose vaccination of eligible girls. The disruptions also included intentional and unintentional reductions in health services, including immunization campaigns against the transmission of wild poliovirus (WPV) and persistent serotype 2 circulating vaccine-derived poliovirus (cVDPV2). Building on a recently updated global poliovirus transmission and Sabin-strain oral poliovirus vaccine (OPV) evolution model, we explored the implications of immunization disruption and restrictions of human interactions (i.e., population mixing) on the expected incidence of polio and on the resulting challenges faced by the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI). We demonstrate that with some resumption of activities in the fall of 2020 to respond to cVDPV2 outbreaks and full resumption on January 1, 2021 of all polio immunization activities to pre-COVID-19 levels, the GPEI could largely mitigate the impact of COVID-19 to the delays incurred. The relative importance of reduced mixing (leading to potentially decreased incidence) and reduced immunization (leading to potentially increased expected incidence) depends on the timing of the effects. Following resumption of immunization activities, the GPEI will likely face similar barriers to eradication of WPV and elimination of cVDPV2 as before COVID-19. The disruptions from the COVID-19 pandemic may further delay polio eradication due to indirect effects on vaccine and financial resources. We documented the polio legacy and assets used to support the national measles campaign in 2017/2018. We documented the integration of the measles campaign coordination with the Polio Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) at national and state levels for planning and implementing the measles SIA. Specific polio strategies and assets, such as the EOC incident command framework and facilities, human resource surge capacity, polio GIS resource These strategies were adapted and adopted for the MVC implementation overcome challenges andrces. This approach may have resulted in better MVC outcomes and contributed to Nigeria's efforts in measles control and elimination.Polio eradication assets and lessons learned can be applied to measles elimination efforts as the eradication and elimination efforts have similar strategies and programme implementation infrastructure needs. Leveraging these strategies and resources to support MVC planning and implementation resulted in more realistic planning, improved accountability and availability of human and fiscal resources. This approach may have resulted in better MVC outcomes and contributed to Nigeria's efforts in measles control and elimination.
